10 and 2 people...
I’m not sure why people drive like idiots, but it’s getting more and more unbearable. I haven’t done too much driving outside the Dirty Jersey, but I’ve had my share of road trips up the great east coast. Which is enough for me to question why some people are even allowed to drive.
I think the main issue is entitlement. Americans believe they are entitled to a license and that’s the first problem. People make bad decisions and never want to take responsibility for their actions. That’s absurd.
Places like Germany charge you over $1,000 to initially get your license. There are also major penalties for not driving safely. There are on-the-spot fines for practically every offense imaginable, and if you do not have enough cash on you there’s a chance your car will be impounded!
People think, “oh in Germany their major highway has no speed limit, that’s crazy!”. Nein, Du spinnst! You’re the crazy one, they have the fear instilled not to drive like a lunatic. Even this country who’s national bird is practically the beer stein has no problem with drunk drivers. Their legal BAC level is the lowest tolerable in the world.
Americans need to get it together. I do have an affinity for Germany and European countries of the like, but I’m not being terribly bias. I love America! Hell, I even start USA chants in public spaces on the regular. I just think we need to do ourselves a favor and take 5 to stay alive*
